learning googllyo 2.0?

Google/Rollyo

Custom searches, good idea. If I searched a group of websites regularly then I would really get a lot of use out of them but as an occasional browser they're not much use to me. At least I know what they are now and how they can be useful.

Off the top of my head... I can see them as another information tool that works along with our online databases. Since people are already using the online sites for research, instead of having them go through each one we could create a custom search that already includes the main sites so a group of them can be browsed through at once.

From my findings, most of the searches that I tried on Google and Rollyo turned up with the same information. Since I'm already affiliated with Google's other sharing sites and I'm used to the "Google look " I decided to create my custom search there... and you can check it out at the bottom of my page if you happen to be that bored.

Learning 2.0

2.0 2.0 2.0 where to begin? I for one, agree with most of the readings. The library is resource central. It's where most people (if they've already got an idea of what one is) go when they have general questions or need help and they can't think of anyone else who can give them answers or point them in the right directions. So what's all the fuss about "customizing" the patron experience towards their needs and the changes that occur along the way?

The world today is moving in such a greater pace than it has in the past and will only continue to get faster and more efficient as time goes on. People already expect to get what they want, when they want it, how they want it, and etc. If adapting to the needs is what it'll take, then it's what we've got to do to not only keep up but to help usher in the rest of the people that aren't quite so savvy and ready for change. It's how we get that done that I think is the underlying issue. And from what we've learned so far, it's having quality customer service and utilizing our resources that'll help us help those others help themselves. I think...
